Upload and share a video with families

Summary: The Videos page lets you share individual videos with your school families. Unlike Photos and Bulletin Boards, the Videos page does not group videos into folders — each video stands on its own. Click Upload Video in the upper-right corner, give the video a title, choose who it is shared with, select the video file, and click Save. The video takes a moment to process, then appears on the Videos page where the families you shared it with can watch it in their mobile app.

Who can do this

Any assigned teacher can upload and share videos with the families of their classroom from inside their classroom. Owners and Administrators can do this for any classroom and for whole-school videos. Who can watch a video depends on the audience you choose when you upload it.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Videos page. Go to the Videos page.
  2. Start an upload. Click the Upload Video button in the upper-right corner.
  3. Enter a title. Choose a title for the video (for example, "How to Sync Calendar Events").
  4. Choose who it is shared with. Select the audience — for example, share it with the whole school so all parents can view it.
  5. Select the video file. Browse your files, choose the video, and open it.
  6. Save. Click Save to finish the upload.
  7. Wait for processing. The video takes a minute to process, then appears on the Videos page and becomes viewable in the families' mobile app.

How the Videos page is different from Photos and Bulletin Boards

Photos and Bulletin Boards group multiple items into folders or boards. The Videos page does not work that way — each video stands alone as its own item. There are no video folders to create; you upload and share one video at a time.

How parents watch videos

Once a video has finished processing and appears on the Videos page, the families you shared it with can watch it in their parent mobile app.

A few things worth knowing

  • Each video is shared individually — there are no folders for grouping videos.
  • A video needs a moment to process after you save it before it appears and becomes viewable.
  • The audience you choose at upload controls who can watch the video.
