Edit the allergies list in your School Profile
Summary: Your school's list of allergies is managed in the School Profile, and you can add new allergies and reorder the list to suit your school. Switch to Account Admin, open the School Profile, click the purple Edit button in the upper-right corner, and go to the Allergies section. Click Add Allergy and type the name of each allergy you want to add. You can drag and drop entries to reorder them, and when you are finished you click Update to save.
Who can do this
The allergies list lives in the School Profile, so this is an Account Owner / Administrator task. Here is who can do it:
- Account Owners and Administrators can edit the allergies list.
- Teachers manage their classroom only and do not edit the school's allergies list.
The way to tell is the context switcher in the upper-right corner. If you can switch to Account Admin, you can edit the allergies list. If you only see your classroom there, you do not have permission, and you will need to ask an administrator for help.
Step-by-step
- Switch to Account Admin. Make sure you are in the Account Admin role using the context switcher in the upper-right corner.
- Open the School Profile. Go to the School Profile.
- Click the purple Edit button. Click the purple Edit button in the upper-right corner.
- Go to Allergies. Open the Allergies section.
- Add an allergy. Click Add Allergy and type the name of the allergy. Repeat for each allergy you want to add.
- Reorder if you want. Drag and drop entries to move them to a different position in the list.
- Click Update. When you are done editing, click Update to save. The new allergies appear in the order you set.
Reordering the list
The allergies list can be arranged in whatever order makes sense for your school. Drag and drop any entry to move it, for instance placing the most common allergies at the top. The order you leave it in is the order that is saved when you click Update.
A few things worth knowing
- The allergies you add here become the options available when recording allergy information for children across the school.
- Nothing is saved until you click Update, so add and reorder everything first, then save once.
