Customize a Students Schedule

Set a student's attendance schedule for a partial week

Summary: If a child only attends on certain days, you can set their attendance schedule from the classroom profile so the platform reflects which days they are present. Open the classroom, go to Edit Students, and you will see each day of the week listed next to every student's name. Deselect the days a child does not attend, leaving only the days they do. The change saves automatically, so there is no separate Save step.

Who can do this

Setting a student's per-weekday attendance schedule lives in the Classroom Students & Teachers sub-views, which is an Account Owner / Administrator task. Here is who can do it:

  • Account Owners and Administrators can set the schedule for students in any classroom.

The way to tell is the context switcher in the upper-right corner. If you can switch to Account Admin, you can set a schedule for a classroom. If you only see your classroom there, you do not have permission, and you will need to ask an administrator for help.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the classroom. Go to the classroom profile. You can click the classroom name from a student's page, or navigate to the classroom directly.
  2. Open Edit Students. In the classroom profile, click Edit Students.
  3. Find the day-of-week columns. Each day of the week appears next to each student's name.
  4. Deselect the days the child does not attend. Leave only the days the child is present selected. For example, selecting only Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday means the child attends those three days.
  5. Let it save. The schedule saves automatically. There is nothing else to click.
  6. Confirm if you want. You can navigate away and return to the student or classroom to confirm the days saved as expected.

Where the attendance schedule lives

Attendance days are set from the classroom profile, under Edit Students, not from the individual student's profile. This is the same place where you add and remove students from a classroom, so it keeps all of a classroom's enrollment details in one spot.

Do I need to save my changes?

No. Day selections are saved automatically the moment you make them. There is no Save button on this screen. If you want reassurance, leave the page and come back. The days you set will still be in place.

A few things worth knowing

  • Each student has their own set of day selections, so children in the same classroom can have different schedules.
  • Deselecting a day does not remove the child from the classroom. It only reflects which days they attend.
  • Because changes auto-save, double-check that you have only deselected the intended days before leaving the screen.
