Upload a profile photo for a student

Summary: You add a profile photo to a child's record from the Students page in the Account Admin area. Switch to Account Admin, open Students, and click the child's name to open their profile. Go to Profile, click Edit, then open the Photo tab. Click Browse Files, choose the photo from your device, and click Open to upload it. Click Update and give it a moment to process. The photo then appears in the circle next to the child's name on the Students page.

Who can do this

Uploading a student's profile photo happens in the Account Admin area, so it requires that level of access. Account Owners and Administrators can upload a child's profile photo.

The way to tell is the context switcher in the upper-right corner. If you can switch to Account Admin, you can upload a student's profile photo. If you only see your classroom there, you do not have permission, and you will need to ask an administrator for help.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Students page. From the Account Admin area, open Students.
  2. Open the child's profile. Click the child's name to open their profile.
  3. Edit the profile. Go to Profile and click Edit. This opens the rest of the profile tabs.
  4. Open the Photo tab. Go to Photo, then click Browse Files.
  5. Choose the photo. Navigate to wherever the photo is stored, select it, and click Open to upload the file.
  6. Update. Click Update and give it a moment to process. The photo becomes the child's profile photo.
  7. Confirm. Go back to the Students page. The new photo appears in the circle next to the child's name.

Where the profile photo appears

Once the upload finishes processing, the child's photo shows in the small circle next to their name on the Students page. If you do not see it right away, give it a moment to process and refresh the page.

A few things worth knowing

  • You must click Edit on the profile first — the Photo tab and the other tabs only appear in edit mode.
  • After uploading, the photo is not saved until you click Update.
  • The photo may take a moment to process before it appears next to the child's name.
