Set or change your school's time zone

Summary: Your school's time zone controls every timestamp parents see in their mobile app, so it is worth getting right. If you skipped it during setup or chose the wrong one, you can change it any time from your school profile. Open the School Profile, click the purple Edit button in the upper-right corner, open the Date Time tab, search for and select the correct time zone, then click Update. The new time zone takes effect across the parent app right away.

Who can do this

The school profile lives in the Account Admin area, so changing the time zone is an administrator task. Account Owners and Administrators can do it. The way to tell is the context switcher in the upper-right corner. If you can switch to Account Admin, you can edit the school profile. If you only see your classroom there, you do not have permission, and you will need to ask an administrator for help.

Step-by-step

1. Open your school profile. Switch to Account Admin using the context switcher in the upper-right corner, then open your School Profile.
2. Click Edit. Click the purple Edit button in the upper-right corner of the profile.
3. Go to the Date Time tab. Select the Date Time tab.
4. Select your time zone. Search for the correct time zone and select it from the list.
5. Update. Click Update. The new time zone is saved to your school profile.

What the time zone controls

The time zone in your school profile controls everything that is timestamped in the parents' mobile app. That includes the times shown on reports you share and on photos you share, along with anything else date- or time-stamped for parents. Setting it correctly keeps those timestamps accurate for your families.

A few things worth knowing

• You can change the time zone at any time — it is not locked after setup.
• The change applies going forward across the parent app, so it is best corrected as soon as you notice it is wrong.
