Student Data and FERPA
Montessori Compass is designed with student privacy as a core principle. We take our responsibilities under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) seriously.
What This Means in Practice
- Student records are protected — Montessori Compass stores student data securely and does not share it with unauthorized third parties.
- School control — Your school retains control over student records. Montessori Compass acts as a service provider under your direction, consistent with FERPA's school official exception.
- Parent access — Parents and guardians access only their own child's information through the Classroom Share app.
- No advertising use — Student data is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.
