Edit or delete a recorded personal growth skill

Summary: If you recorded a personal growth skill by mistake (for example, the wrong concentration level for a child), you correct it from the Activities page, the same feed that holds your lessons, trackers, and observations. Open Activities, use the Filters to narrow the feed to Recorded Personal Growth Trackers so you do not have to scroll, find the child's entry, and click Delete. Once it is removed, you can go back to the Journal's Personal Growth Skills tab and record the level you intended.

Who can do this

Any assigned teacher can edit or delete recorded personal growth skills for the children in their classroom. Owners and Administrators can do so for any classroom. No special role is required.

Step-by-step

  1. Identify the entry. Note the child and the personal growth skill entry you need to correct (for example, a concentration level recorded by mistake for a child).
  2. Go to Activities. Open the Activities page. This is the feed of everything recorded, including personal growth skills alongside lessons, trackers, and observations.
  3. Filter the feed. Rather than scrolling, open Filters, set the filter to Recorded Personal Growth Trackers, and click Save to apply it.
  4. Find the child's entry. Locate the entry for the child in the filtered results.
  5. Delete it. Click Delete on the incorrect entry. The entry is removed.
  6. Verify the removal. Go back to the Journal's Personal Growth Skills tab and scroll down to confirm the record no longer appears.
  7. Record the correct entry. Record the personal growth skill you intended to enter in its place.

Using the filter to find an entry quickly

The Activities feed holds every kind of record (lessons, trackers, observations, and personal growth skills), so it can be long. Opening Filters and choosing Recorded Personal Growth Trackers, then clicking Save, narrows the feed to just those entries so you can find the one you need without scrolling.

Correcting a mistaken assessment

To fix an assessment recorded at the wrong level, the path is to delete the incorrect entry from the Activities page and then record the correct level from the Journal's Personal Growth Skills tab. Deleting removes the entry from the child's record entirely, so once it is gone you can re-record cleanly.

A few things worth knowing

  • Personal growth skills live in the same Activities feed as lessons, trackers, and observations, so you manage them all from one place.
  • The Recorded Personal Growth Trackers filter is the fastest way to surface these entries in a busy feed.
  • Deleting is final for that entry, so to change a level, delete the wrong one and record the right one fresh.
