Getting Started with Your Montessori Compass 2.0 Trial Account

Welcome to Montessori Compass 2.0! This guide walks you through your initial account setup so you can start exploring right away.


Step 1: Activate Your Account

After submitting the trial request form, you will receive two emails:

  1. Email Verification — Click the link to verify your email address.
  2. Account Activation — Click the link to begin setting up your Montessori Compass account.

The activation link takes you to the Create New Account page. Enter your name, email, and password, agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and click Create My Account.


Step 2: Enter School Information

You will be prompted to enter your school details:

  • School name and address
  • Time zone
  • School hours (e.g., 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

Click Save and Continue to proceed.


Step 3: Select Your Assessment Scale

Choose how many levels your assessment scale will include:

  • 3 levels (default)
  • 4 levels
  • 5 levels

Select the option that best fits your school, then click Save and Continue.


Step 4: Complete the Setup Wizard

The setup wizard walks you through three steps. Follow the bouncing arrow on screen to complete each one.

Add a Classroom

  1. Click the Add Classroom button in the upper-right corner.
  2. Name your classroom (e.g., Primary 1).
  3. Select one or more Grades/Years.
  4. Click Create.

Add a Student

  1. Go to the Students page and click Add Student in the upper-right corner.
  2. Enter the student's name and date of birth (use the calendar icon for easy selection).
  3. Assign a Grade/Year.
  4. Click Create.

Assign the Student to a Classroom

  1. The wizard returns you to the Classrooms page.
  2. Click the No Students link under your new classroom.
  3. Select the student from the "Not Enrolled" list.
  4. Click Add.

Once the student is assigned, click the yellow Finish Setup button in the upper-right corner to exit the wizard.


Step 5: Switch to a Classroom Role

To start using record-keeping features like planning and recording lessons:

  1. Switch your role from Account Admin to the classroom role you just created (upper-right corner).
  2. You will now have access to tools like Quick Add for lesson planning and documentation.

You can switch back to your admin role at any time to continue adding students, staff, and parents.
